Energy is the backbone of economic development as it drives industrial growth and productivity. Therefore, the adoption of new solutions that ensure use of less energy and water across industries, particularly technology intervention is necessary to realize environmental sustainability and food security for future generations.

Eenovators Limited in partnership with GIZ (Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit GmbH) under the Water and Energy for Food WE4F initiative conducted a project dubbed “Building Esco Models for Promotion of Food Security through Water and Energy Management with a Focus on Youth Empowerment” in Kenya from October 2020 to October 2021. The objective of this project was to assess the energy ‘footprint’ of the selected facilities in the Agri-food sector in Kenya and make recommendations on the potential water and energy savings.
